- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, August 15 - 2007 at 12:45
- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), in cooperation with Al Wasl Hospital, recently held a blood donation day.
DIB employees continue to take part in the campaign to support the "Blood Donation Centre," which provides blood units to the three main hospitals in the Department of Health and Medical Services: Rashid Hospital, Dubai Hospital and Al Wasl Hospital.
The campaign is in line with DIB's efforts to promote lifesaving care for patients in need of blood transfusions, including those with thalassaemia. A special medical unit, comprising of nurses and one doctor, was present during the blood donation day at the bank's main branch.
Taha Neiman, Head of HR Department, DIB, said: "Donating blood is a noble way to serve humanity, especially those with thalassemia, who are in critical need of blood as they require frequent transfusions. The need for blood by patients being treated for injuries, routine surgeries and serious diseases, such as cancer, heart ailments and thalassaemia, is ongoing and must be met every day."
"DIB is committed to supporting social, educational and charitable activities to help individuals in need in all the emirates in the UAE. This initiative signals DIB's commitment to enhance cooperation with government bodies and reflects our belief in supporting the Takaful concept in the UAE community," he concluded.
