The significance of the training is underscored by the results of a recent global study, which showed that 18 per cent of enterprises and 31 per cent of SMBs do not have a business continuity and disaster recovery plan. The program was attended by representatives from major organizations such as STG South Africa, Azady Telecom (Iraq), Power Pulse (France), JEL Corporation (UAE), MIT (Pakistan), Matrix Business Technology (Jordan), Americana (UAE), Mechatronic (Cyprus), Best Comp (Azerbaijan), SafeData (UAE) and Raqmiyat, (UAE).

Dubbed the 'Harmonics and Power Protection Training Program', the two-day event was specifically designed to provide the trainees with essential knowledge and tools in solving power quality concerns. During the training, attendees examined power quality standards, disturbances and polluted electrical supply as well as the effects of harmonics on power systems. The skills enhancement training also covered mitigation techniques, installation and troubleshooting as well as SU online Single phase and 3-phase Tripp Lite UPS.

Commenting on the CAP training, Vipin Sharma, Vice President, EMEA & India Sales, Tripp Lite, said,

"The skills enhancement program was targeted at developing UPS experts who can proficiently handle the extensive needs of an organization for reliable power protection, which is an integral part of business continuity. As a market leader with a team of experts, we wanted to initiate valuable knowledge transfer to our partners in order to advance their capabilities in handling power quality issues and minimize their impact on operations. We are glad to provide a platform of this kind and we appreciate the tremendous response from major organizations, which reflects their emphasis on improving their skill sets."

The training also highlighted Tripp Lite's best-of-breed products and services including its recently launched new generation IGBT based UPS systems, which gave the attendees the opportunity to explore various solutions that have helped companies ensure continuity and disaster recovery. At the end of the program, the trainees were given an examination and awarded Tripp Lite/CAP certificates upon successful completion.

"Power supply, quality and protection have a direct and significant impact on business performance and are major issues that we must focus on. We need to keep pace with the latest techniques and tools in order to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery, and this training is a much-needed platform where we can get expert information, said Walid Mabrok, IT Solutions Manager, Jel Corporation.
