Union opposes Delta Two

The UK's largest trade union, Unite, a combination of the Transport and General Workers union and Amicus, has urged the board of J Sainsbury to resist the $21.6bn bid from Qatar's Delta Two investment fund, reported Reuters. The union said it feared Delta Two would act 'just like private equity' in a reference to possible asset sell-offs. If the board agrees the deal, the union will approach the Competition Commission.
