Barclays Bank opens electronic banking unit in the UAE

Following the launch of Barclays first electronic banking unit at Bank Street, Bur Dubai in June 2007, Barclays announced the official opening of its second electronic banking unit, located at Healthcare City in Dubai.

By the end of 2007, Barclays Bank is planning to launch further branches and service centres as part of its Gulf States expansion and commitment to the region. Barclays in the UAE keeps working to ensure customers receive increasingly more access to their choice of top quality service and are able to exercise even more control over their finances.

The new Healthcare City unit will enable customers to conduct their banking through dedicated Relationship Managers from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Saturday through Thursday. Barclays will immediately handover Welcome Packs to new account holders containing their debit card and cheque book.

Furthermore, customers will be able to complete basic account enquiries, obtain duplicate statements, request for issuance of pay-orders, utilise NRI Banking facilities, submit requests for fund transfers and subscribe to fixed deposit services. They will also be able to deposit cheques into their account or towards payment of their Barclaycard, UAE.
