Within the next week, the EEA Award Committee will finalise the winners of the six different categories from among a field of 64 entries from various sectors, after having closely scrutinised each entry.

"The Award Committee has been very impressed with the quality of the entries, which reflects the level of commitment these candidates have in creating a clean and energy-efficient working environment. Just as we have been looking forward to reviewing different energy programs of the candidates, I am sure many people are also eager to be acquainted with the most innovative techniques and energy management systems that have been successfully implemented by numerous companies,"

said Dr. Abdalla Al Amiri, Chairman of the Award Committee.

"Those who have been closely following the Emirates Energy Award will definitely gather valuable insights when we announce the winning entries during the ceremony, which would hopefully encourage them to develop their own energy programs. While the process of selecting the winners was highly enriching, it also proved to be a challenging task considering the quality of the entries," added Al Amiri.

The 64 entries undergo a thorough evaluation process, which is divided into two stages. The first stage involves identifying the finalists of the six categories, which will be done by a jury of professionals specializing in energy management. In the second stage, the Award Committee will evaluate the finalists to determine the winners of each category.

The EEA has been established in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, who has called for sustainable means of development amid the region's rapidly rising energy consumption and its subsequent impact on the economy and the environment.

Aside from recognizing energy conservation and management practices that showcase innovative, cost-effective and replicable energy resources, the EEA further aims to boost awareness among individuals, organizations and policy makers on the critical importance of energy optimization throughout the region.

Launched by DQG under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed, the EEA's six categories are Public Corporation Energy Award, Private Corporation Energy Award, Energy Engineer Award, Major Energy Project Award, Minor Energy Project Award, and Education and Research Award.
