Dubai Women's College runs ICDL testing

Dubai Women's College (DWC) has joined the few International Computer Driving License (ICDL) centers licensed to provide the certificate in Dubai.
Mahra A. Rahim Falaknaz, a Higher Diploma Year 3 Information Administration student at DWC is the first student to complete her ICDL certificate in the new ICDL testing and training lab opened at DWC. "Mahra was the first of these students to qualify as she passed all of her exams the first time that she attempted them and put herself on a tight schedule for completion," said Mark Floden, Information Technology Faculty at DWC.
In addition to being an internationally recognized qualification, ICDL is known to improve individuals' desktop skills and enhance their career opportunities. According to ICDL officials, "ICDL is proven to increases productivity, reduces expenditure on IT support, and solves the disruption to workflow caused by poor IT skills."
Today, ICDL is known as an internationally recognized benchmark of minimum computer literacy with more than 13 million tests taken worldwide. ICDL is required for all employees of Dubai eGovernment which runs two ICDL programs as part of its e4all initiative. Several thousands of Abu-Dhabi Education Zone teachers and Abu-Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority employees have tested for the ICDL certificate as per a government requirement. ICDL certification program in the Gulf region is administered by the ICDL GCC Foundation which oversees the program in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates.
