The exhibition received around 3000 professional traders as visitors to the exhibition and USD 30 million worth of contracts were made between local and regional merchants and Chinese exhibitors, Mr Pan added.

The Exhibition was kept busy through out the four-day period from 14-17 August with local traders, Iraqi, Palestinian, Lebanese, Egyptian and Saudi Arabian merchants visiting the fair for specific manufactured products and machinery to buy.

Sixty exhibitors representing top companies in China at the exhibition were selling anything from construction material, foodstuffs, heavy machinery, electronic pumps and water purifications systems, gas adapters, home and office furniture and diesel generators, cookers, printing equipments, fire extinguishers and canned foodstuffs.

"This was a targeted exhibition, after studying the markets, and judging from our previous three exhibitions held in Amman, we brought specific exhibitors from China whose products we knew they would be a demand for in Jordan and the region, pointed out Pan. "This also explains why there were so many contracts and pledges made this time around," he continued.

The China Products Fair has truly established itself on Amman's economic scene through the efforts of local organizer Petra Tours as one of the major exhibitions that has annually come to be held in Jordan. Managing Partner Mazen Kawar says the China Products Fair has become a very important event on Jordan's economic scene that is generating lots of exchange.

On the fringes of this year's exhibitions, there was a Jordan-China Investment Forum made in cooperation with the Jordan Investment Board (JIB). "As a result six Chinese companies are setting up businesses in Jordan to the tune of $6 million," Mr Pan added.

Chairman of the JIB Dr Maen Nsour opened the Forum and talked about the importance of such a Products Fair to cement Jordanian-Chinese relations and investment exchange between the two countries.

He latter visited the exhibitors in the Fair and told that how important it is for them to be exhibiting in Jordan since they are building economic bridges with the people of the region.

"This is a snowball exhibition as many of the participants have declared their intentions of coming back next year, which will be held in the first half of August."

The China Products Fair is jointly organized by Petra Events Management, a division of the Petra Travel and Tourism Company, which specializes in organizing events, conferences and exhibitions in Jordan.
