ABB $140m Qatar contract

Swiss engineering giant ABB has won a $140m contract by Qatalum to construct what is expected to be the world's largest aluminium plant to be built in one phase, Gulf News reported. Qatalum is a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and Norway's Hydro Aluminium. The project, which will be located in Mesaieed Industrial City, will include an aluminium smelter with a capacity of 585,000 tons per year.
