Through strategic partnerships, 2Connect's new, international MPLS network is now available in more than 80 countries from 1100 points of presence (PoP).

"The expansion of our global MPLS network from 10 to 80 countries underlines 2Connect's strategy to remain at the forefront of the Kingdom's competitive, telecommunications industry. We have equipped ourselves to provide local and international consumers with all- encompassing, innovative technological services in a bid to solidify Bahrain's reputation as a pioneer in the telecommunications field,"

said Fahad AlShirawi, Managing Director, 2Connect.

"2Connect's focus is on investing in the nation's infrastructure and the recent expansion of our MPLS network reflects our commitment to this cause. Businesses in Bahrain now have an opportunity to access one of the world's most reliable and extensive MPLS networks. Bahrain's growing financial industry in particular is set to benefit from the introduction of a global MPLS network which till now has not been adequately provided by any other telecommunications provider in the Kingdom," concluded AlShirawi.

"2Connect's enhanced global MPLS network will improve our product portfolio offering, giving our customers greater reach to over 80 countries. This makes us the number one choice for businesses looking for high-quality data connectivity," said Francis Pepin, Senior Manager, Marketing, 2Connect.

"The Kingdom's financial sector is currently undergoing a period of rapid growth and development and we saw an increased demand from banks and financial institutions for international data connectivity to countries that were not part of our coverage. There was a gap in the market for an integrated MPLS network and we sought to fill it," added Pepin.

MPLS or multi protocol label switching is a service that is ideal for linking offices that are spread across the world for a variety of applications. Using a MPLS global network allows for greater flexibility as new sites can be added quickly and easily. MPLS networks are particularly effective in the banking and financial sector enabling branches in Bahrain to connect to their institutions' headquarters anywhere in the world. Through its new MPLS network which offers greater reach than ever before 2Connect offers a flexible, secure and effective platform to enhance company- wide communications.

The defining feature of 2Connect's new MPLS network is that it allows organizations greater flexibility and ensures companies can gain maximum value from its enterprise applications. In addition 2Connect's international MPLS network offers: reduced networking costs, increased efficiency, future-proof solution, global network breadth and depth, simple access through a single line per site, rapid configuration, provisioning and deployment and streamlined management.
