The Starlink head delivered the lecture to a group of female students keen to understand what makes a successful retail distribution operation. Starlink, Qatar's premier telecommunications and entertainment company, and the no.1 retailer in the MENA region this year, was a prime case study for the students who put down their textbooks to hear Mr. Sinfield talk passionately about the industry serving Qatar's growing telecommunications market.

Mr. Sinfield commented, "It was a pleasure to once again be invited to talk about market segmentation and logistics opportunities related to distribution strategies to serve respective segments with a case study focus based on Starlink's growing role in Qatar. These talented young people will soon be accomplished, working professionals and may soon even be heading their own companies. What Starlink brings to this industry is a clear direction for the future of the telecommunications and infotainment sector. With more and better products and services and increased demand for telecoms and infotainment services, we are distinguished by our drive to consolidate all of this into a one-stop-shop solution to meet our customers' needs."

The Starlink CEO has extensive experience in marketing and distribution and in less than a year has managed to position Starlink as an important player in the Qatari market.

With liberalization on the horizon in Qatar, a strong retail distribution capacity is understood to be of key importance in the telecoms sector. Starlink, known for its extensive distribution channels and strong retail presence is exceptionally positioned to support this in the Qatar market.

"The landscape of the telecoms sector in Qatar is going to change considerably with the arrival of new operator(s). What will be important to any new entrant is a reliable, professional company with mature distribution channels to support this sectors growth."

Starlink has developed a reputation as an innovative and independent voice in the region. This unique position is being driven by Starlink's vision for the future of telecoms and entertainment in Qatar and GCC wide, which sees services increasingly provided by electronic means.

"The future of distribution for this sector is going to be increasingly in e-services and we are very focused on innovative e-distribution mechanisms. That is what the communications retail distribution industry is all about; it is not enough simply to keep pace with this fast-changing and increasingly demanding market; instead you have to stay ahead, which means giving customers what they want, when (and even before) they want it".

In line with this vision, Starlink is rapidly increasing electronic services for Qtel products throughout Qatar and continues to partner with major outlets to further extend the pre-paid e-voucher system, benefiting customer and retailer alike. In addition to its operational activities, Starlink is rapidly expanding as a company in Qatar, with 5 outlets already open and several more to follow in Villagio, City Centre, Q-Post Corniche and Al Nasser Street, which will be the largest store to date, scheduled to open in the coming months.

"We are so far pleased with the in-roads we have made and are making in Qatar. What is even more satisfying is to be able to transfer what we know about this industry to the people who will one day be driving it forward."
