This was announced by the United Kingdom recently. The Fair, which will be held in the British capital next April on 14th through 16th, usually attracts 1200 publishing houses from more than 115 countries.

This invitation, the first of its kind, strengthens the cultural ties with the UK and reinforces the cultural dialogue between the Arab world and the west. It also contributes to the Arabic culture and publishing books in particular. This cooperation, he added, is vital for translation books from and into Arabic. Moreover, it is an excellent opportunity for Arab writers and publishers to get into direct contact with the publication industry in Europe.

Therefore, all cultural institutions and publishers in the Arab countries are urged to participate in the Fair.

H.E. mentioned that Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage with directives from General His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and following up by H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al NAhyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, has accomplished pioneering cultural achievements in short period of time such as " Sheikh Zayed Book Award and Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which was held for the first time in cooperation with Frankfurt International Book Fair.

Al Mazrouei said that London Book Fair has allotted three days to celebrate Arabic literature and its humanitarian mission. The Fair will hold seminars, workshops, lectures and discussion forums to trigger cooperation between Arab and British publishers and intellectuals.
