17.5% lift in Omani mobile users

Omantel's fixed line phone service subscription at the end of H1 totalled 257,235, a fall of 5.2% when compared to the 271,456 recorded at the same time in 2006, according to statistics released by the Ministry of National Economy and cited by the Times of Oman. But the number of subscribers to billed and pre-paid mobile services offered by Oman Mobile and Nawras increased by 17.5% to 2.1m.
