BG Oman confirms participation at OGWA 2008

"Our decision to support OGWA 2008 is consistent with our objective to play a leading role in the continued development of the Sultanate's oil and gas industry," said Peter Dranfield, Vice President-Middle East of BG Group.

Dranfield pointed out that BG Group holds a 100% interest in and operatorship of Block 60 in onshore Oman, following the signing of an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) with the Government of the Sultanate of Oman on April 30, 2006. The Block 60 project marks the BG Group's entry into the natural gas sector in Oman, with the intention of appraising and commercialising potential reserves for supply into the domestic market.

First held in 1998, OGWA is a biennial exhibition and conference that focuses on the latest products, equipment, systems and opportunities for the region's vibrant oil & gas industry. It is has been held under the patronage of the Ministry of Oil & Gas, and it has consistently attracted the participation of many national oil & gas companies and leading international oil & gas firms. The event brings together industry professionals from all over the region and from other countries including China, India, Russia, and the U.S.

In addition to BG Oman, many other local and international companies have shown interest and have already confirmed their participation in OGWA 2008.
