ABC appoints a Deputy Chief Executive

Arab Banking Corporation (B.S.C.) is pleased to announce that Mr Abdulmagid Breish has been appointed as Deputy Chief Executive & Chief Banking Officer of the ABC Group, whilst Mr. Asaf Mohyuddin was appointed the Chief Administrative Officer of the Group.

Both will be based at ABC's Head Office in Bahrain. Other existing Senior Executives at Head Office level are the Chief Treasurer and Chief Credit & Risk Officer, respectively Messrs Essam El Wakil and Richard Cumberland.

The appointments of Messrs Breish and Mohyuddin were confirmed at a recent meeting of the Board of Directors of ABC when a number of other measures were adopted to bolster management and strengthen the business and financial profile of the ABC Group. In line with this course of action, other imminent senior appointments are expected to be announced in the near future.

Mr Abdulmagid Breish is a long time executive of the ABC Group. He joined ABC at its inception where his outstanding contribution over the years covered various responsibilities and markets. In particular, Mr Breish has been the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of ABC International Bank plc since 1990. He comes to his new position with extensive experience in international financial management.

Likewise, Mr Mohyuddin is also a long time executive of ABC, with exhibited sensitivity to controls issues and standards for ABC's businesses. He was last the ABC Group Financial Controller.

Mr Ghazi Abdul-Jawad, the President & Chief Executive of the ABC Group expressed his confidence that these appointments will contribute to the progress of the ABC Group over the next period with a view to refocusing the ABC Group on its strategy and meeting the challenges lying ahead.
