Korek could buy Iraqna

Kurdish telecommunications operator Korek Telecom, which secured one of three 15 year mobile licences handed out by Iraq's government earlier this month, is in talks to buy the Iraqi assets of Egypt's Orascom Telecom, reported Reuters. Orascom, which pulled out of the bidding for the licences as prices soared above $1bn, operates a network in the war-torn country under the Iraqna brand. Credit Suisse has valued Iraqna at around $1bn.
