Etisalat Misr hits 1m

Etisalat Misr, the Egyptian mobile arm of the UAE's Etisalat, has racked up 1m subscribers in its first seven weeks of operation, according to a company official cited by Reuters. The firm is hoping to secure around 3m customers by the turn of the year and is competing with Vodafone Egypt and Mobinil for business. Etisalat paid almost $3bn for Egypt's third mobile licence last year.
