Omantel not after Kuwaiti stake

Omantel has confirmed that it has no intention of bidding for a stake in Kuwait's third mobile operator currently being set up by the government, reported Reuters. A Kuwaiti newspaper suggested last week that the Omani firm was one of 17 parties interested in acquiring the 26% shareholding. Other regional operators, like Etisalat and the Saudi Telecom Company, are expected to express an interest by the September 7 deadline.
