With the extension of biometric technology, the fiercely competitive laptop market is undergoing a transformation. Product design and competitive pricing no longer account for a successful product. With tech-savvy end-users demanding more, the new security enabled machines add more credibility to Acer's mix of product.

"Acer is now in a position to set the trend in the notebook market. Our products are tailor-made, taking into consideration design, functionality, and needs of the customer. With the increased importance being placed on mobility products in the Middle East, we are clearly making a strategic move that should see us extend our lead in the notebooks sector," said Mark Prosser, Product Marketing Manager, Mobility Products, Acer Computer (M.E) Ltd.

The fingerprint recognition built on Acer's embedded TPM security subsystem feature an integrated biometric fingerprint reader, providing one of the best solutions available to verify an individual's true identify. Pre-Boot Authentication (PBA) support is among the most secure mobile platform verification systems available today, securing authentication during system power-on before the operating system starts.

"We wanted to offer something extraordinary, and by incorporating the latest in biometric security and cutting-edge technology, we want to provide a value-added product that will excite users," added Prosser.

Acer Computer (M.E) has been awarded 'Superbrands' status for 2007 by the Superbrands organisation, an independent arbiter on branding.
