DIB concludes sixth round of Iktasib training
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, August 27 - 2007 at 12:51
- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) recently concluded the sixth round of its summer training programme, Iktasib, which provides professional development training for UAE nationals.
Taha Noman, Vice President, Head of Human Resources, DIB, said: "The programme is in line with the DIB board's decision to encourage emiratisation. DIB has achieved 100 per cent emiratisation at the branch manager level, including its Johara branches."
He added: "The UAE national workforce at DIB now accounts for 45 per cent of the bank's total employees. That percentage is expected to increase following the implementation an ambitious expansion plan that will increase the bank's branches from 42 to 53 branches by the end of 2007."
Iktasib introduces trainees to the bank's overall strategy and vision. The programme is known for introducing practical training, starting with an opening reception for the trainees, in which they receive general information about the bank and its operations, and become familiar with Islamic financial services and its contribution to society. Trainees are then divided into groups according to the bank's divisions, where they undergo practical work.
"Iktasib provides a practical and professional opportunity for UAE youth to familiarise themselves with a professional business environment," concluded Noman.
