ITA Community training graduation ceremony

The graduation ceremony of the ITA's Community IT Training pilot program will take place on 1st September 2007 at the Crown Plaza, Salalah.

The event is organised in cooperation with the Dhofar Municipality and is sponsored by Microsoft.

On this occasion, Sheikh Salim bin Aufait Al Shanfari, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality and Chairman of the Main Committee of Khareef Salalah Festival 2007 will present the certificates to about 245 students who will be graduating with basic IT literacy.

The CITT is a project under the 'National IT Training & Awareness Framework Initiative (NITTA) which is a government, nation-wide eOman initiative aimed at developing ICT skills capability and increasing ICT awareness within the government asnd the community.

The Initiative aims to provide ICT training opportunities to the citizens of Oman in order for them to fully participate in a digital, knowledge-based society. ITA marked the rollout of its CKCs with the launch of a pilot project at its training centre in Salalah, set up as part of the Authority's participation in the Salalah Khareef Festival.
