Mr Sadiq Al Mulla, Regional Head of Operations, and Mr Andy Bonito, Regional Head of Learning and Development welcome one of five groups of new recruits to HSBC after their training with ENDP and DIHRD. Also included are some of the managers and Emiratee mentors for the new recruits.
Through this partnership, over 80 UAE nationals have recently joined HSBC's first specialised training programme entitled the 'HSBC Emiratee Development Programme'. More programmes are planned for later in the year that will take the total to at least 200 recruits.

The 'HSBC Emiratee Development Programme' is instrumental in imparting key skills that are vital to prepare the UAE national school leavers for the world of work with HSBC, the first bank to be established in the UAE 60 years ago. The initial training programme, which is six weeks long, covers language, communication and computer skills together with the standards of work behavior expected in a large organization. Successful completion of the programme results in the award of the internationally recognised 'Work Essentials' qualification conferred by BTEC (Business & Technology Education Council) of the UK. This programme is then followed by job placements, mentoring and further job-specific training designed to help the new recruits succeed in their new careers.

"We are proud to nurture the skills of young UAE nationals seeking jobs in the financial services industry. Through our partnership with ENDP, HSBC will provide UAE nationals looking for a career in this sector with the opportunity to learn and develop their skills and a rewarding career path in our Corporate, Personal Finance and Operations area of the Bank. It is a great example of the World's Local Bank preparing people for the world of work.

"As an international Bank which is focused on becoming the 'Employer of Choice' and with 10,000 branches in 82 countries and territories, we present to the outstanding candidates an extraordinary range of career opportunities," said Andy Bonito, Regional Head, Learning and Development at HSBC Bank Middle East Limited.

Azzah Al Sharhan, Director of ENDP, said: "We are currently celebrating the 1st anniversary of the launch of our recruitment services, even as more private sector partners are seeking to join in our efforts to attract UAE National talent. The banking sector has been more than eager to train UAE Nationals and offer them an opportunity to build a successful career. We are glad to see the emergence of more and more players who believe recruiting UAE Nationals is more about productivity, excellence and the willingness to grow."

Mohammed Jassim, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Institute for Human Resource Development, stated: "We are glad to partner with ENDP and HSBC to develop the skills of UAE Nationals and prepare them for the knowledge-driven economy in line with Dubai's strategy."

As "The world's local bank", HSBC diversifies its staff resources to contribute to societies where it operates. Pushing forward with Emiratization is a reflection of this goal.
