  • PRESS RELEASE

Under the theme of Changing Today, Protecting Tomorrow, the region's first Corporate Sustainability report will be released by Aramex at a special forum convened on 4 September in Dubai to discuss private sector practices in the area of community development and the economic and environmental impacts of doing business.

Aramex, the region's leading total transportation solutions provider and an avid community development activist, has taken a strategic step towards reiterating its commitment to the investment in the wellbeing of the communities and environments in which it operates.

The Aramex Corporate Sustainability report, which is an audited account of the company's goals, activities and achievements in these areas, is the first of its kind in the region and opens the door for corporations to follow this global model for corporate social responsibility.

The Aramex hosted forum seeks to highlight the private sector's role on the regional level and the role of sustainability reports as a transparent communication tool between companies and their stakeholders.

Fadi Ghandour, Founder and CEO of Aramex, said: "To us at Aramex customers and communities are inseparable, this has been our perspective and approach from the early days of the company. In the past 25 years, we have been committed to taking the initiative and acting responsibly towards our shareholders, customers, people, the community and the environment.

"Our first corporate sustainability report will completely document all our activities and our role within the local communities. It will reflect in detail how these activities lead towards higher transparency and play an important role in building a better future for our societies."

The corporate sustainability report adheres to the 'Global Reporting Initiative', which acts as the world's de facto standard in sustainability reporting guidelines.

"We believe this forum will help promote the exchange of views and lead to a more proactive private sector role in investing in & developing communities in the region," Ghandour added.
