The move will promote an early adoption of GPN's range of Self Organising Network (SON) wireless products in the lucrative Saudi IT market, through an expanded partner program established after only three months of operations in the Kingdom.

The tie-up will see NESMA operates as GPN's partner in Saudi, which will enable GPN to deploy its cutting edge Next Generation Network (NGN) solutions to NESMA's portfolio of A-class enterprise clients and partners. GPN's scalable products, including the SONbuddy, SONaccess and SONmetro - designed for Telcos, enterprises and mobile work groups, will address the growing demand for flexible communications infrastructure in the Kingdom due to strong ICT growth.

'This is a mutually beneficial partnership that is likely to encourage a large number of people to adopt the most modern generation of communication solutions. We are confident that GPN will grow through expanding in the Saudi market through NESMA; while NESMA can benefit from offering its customers the NGN solutions based on GPN's unique technologies,'

said Dr. Ali Al Mashat, Chairman of GPN.

According to Eng. Nabeel Al-Alfi, Head of Wireless Services Department, NESMA, 'Adding Green Packets products and services to the range that we offer will open a new horizon to GSM and public utility companies by enhancing the quality of services offerings available to the public.'

International telecoms studies have consistently outlined the immense potential of KSA's telecoms field, with the country recently ranked first in the Middle East in a study measuring the usage of the 3G telecoms technology. Madar Research statistics also revealed that KSA was ranked fifth in the Arab World in terms of ICT use, with internet users totalling 4.86 million, or more than 20 per cent of the population, in 2006 alone.

'The agreement with NESMA will be limited to KSA at the moment to ensure a dedicated focus on the rapidly growing Saudi market. We believe that NESMA has the expertise not only to take Green Packet's technology to the Saudi market, but also to position it on top there,' commented Dr. Al Mashat.

NESMA Advanced Technology Ltd. (NAT) is the leading SI Company in Saudi Arabia in specialized fields of E-Businesses, Business Process Solutions, Enterprise Content Management Systems, Wireless Services & Solutions, Internet Gateway and Connectivity Building Solutions and Total Business Storage and Archiving Solutions.
