Qatar to raise bid equity portion

Delta Two, the Qatari-backed investment fund, has offered to boost the equity proportion in its $21.3 billion takeover bid of UK supermarket giant J Sainsbury, the Financial Times reported. The amount of the increase is believed to be between 500 million to 1 billion pounds. Sainsbury's board had raised concerns about the level of debt originally proposed by Delta Two in its bid.
