Qatari telco regulator ictQatar has pushed back the deadline for firms wishing to bid for the country's second mobile phone licence until September 16, a delay of two weeks, reported Reuters. 12 firms including the UK's Vodafone, India's Reliance and the UAE's Etisalat have already been short-listed. IctQatar did not give a reason for the delay which could also see the eventual auction date moved back.
