National Bank of Dubai launches online service in Arabic

National Bank of Dubai (NBD) has launched an Arabic version of its popular NBD online service to become the first bank in the United Arab Emirates to offer online banking in both English and Arabic languages.

The unprecedented move is part of NBD's continuous enhancement of services for its customers.

The launch of NBD Online in Arabic marks a milestone for online banking in the country. As the first bank in the UAE to offer both English and Arabic online services, NBD is helping to increase the accessibility of hassle free, self service banking for all its customers.

NBD Online is a comprehensive service offered by the bank to its customers and includes all the features required for day-to-day banking needs of both individual and commercial customers. For the first time in the UAE customers will be able to make balance enquiries, transaction enquiries, transfers and remittances, bill payments and service requests in Arabic as well as English.

"We have recognized an increasing demand on our online services and NBD Online in Arabic builds upon the bank's continuous efforts to enhance customer service with a customized system created especially to meet various customers' needs. In addition, to ensure highest levels of online banking security, NBD online service in both English and Arabic has received the ISO certification for online security,"


said Suvo Sarkar, Group Head Retail Banking, National Bank of Dubai.

NBD Online has been awarded the ISO 27001 Certification for Online Security by TUV, Germany. The certification makes NBD one of the very few banks in the Arab region to be officially certified for adopting the Information Security Management System for controlling and managing the security of its Online Banking services as per international standards.

NBD Online offers a number of advantages which has spurred its usage among business users. Some important and cost efficient services such as bulk salary payments and bulk payments to vendors are highly popular among trade users. While retail customers benefit from the convenience of 24 hour online banking allowing them greater control of their finances.
