Samsung launches the new U100 in the Middle East market

The Ultra Edition U100 is thin enough to disappear if turned on its side, yet incredibly robust and packed with innovative features for everyday use.

A groundbreaking technology, and an embodiment of the term slim yet powerful, the U100 measures at 5.9mm and weighs a mere 57 grams. As for its design, this phone's exterior shape is complimented by the contrasting color. This Samsung U100 comes with a 1.93" color LCD screen with a 220 x 176 resolution and features 262,000 colors for exceptional image clarity.

Samsung is yet again breaking its own record in releasing ultra slim phones. Steve Han, general manager of the hand-held phones division at Samsung Gulf Electronics comments: "Samsung U100 has a trademark Samsung look and feel with its ultra slim shape from the outside and ultra packed features from the inside. This slim beauty combines both worlds of ultimate design and superior mobile technology. The U100 is so stylishly slim; it is sure to appeal to fashionable and trendy consumers, with an eye for technologically advanced mobile phones."

Another intrinsic design element is Samsung's Smart Surface Mounting Technology (SSMT). SSMT sets the Ultra Edition handsets apart from other phones. This groundbreaking technology reduces the number of components and noise between components, whatever the form of the mobile phone, resulting in one of the slimmest-ever phones of the decade. SSMT technology ensures that quality is not compromised for good looks.

The U100 phone features a 3.2 mega pixel camera which can capture still photos as well as moving footage. The camera is enhanced with an Auto Focus, Half Shutter and an easy to use Image Editor features that ensure premium image quality.

The Samsung U100 is also an entertainment centre for the user to enjoy. This device comes with a built in media player which allows the user to play video and music files on their mobile phone. The multi format music player is fully synched with Windows Media Player and allows the user to download all their favorite tunes with ease and enjoy a lively music experience when ever they desire.

The U100 also boasts connectivity options, with support for wireless Bluetooth 1.2 and a fast USB 2.0 port. It also has a TV-Out connection which enables you to watch your videos or photos directly on a TV. It can handle all kinds of messaging, including email, has a fast EDGE connection to the internet, can browse web pages at a push of the button, and has the usual range of personal organizer functions that you would expect from a modern mobile.

In line with the Ultra Edition range, battery power and quality is guaranteed. The U100 incorporates Samsung's OPUS (Optimized Power Usage Solution) technology that is designed to get better performance out of a smaller battery. OPUS guarantees maximum performance by increasing talk time by 10%, power saving by 30% for camera and video functions and up to 40% for the music player, significantly prolonging your mobile experience per battery charge.
