Iraqi energy needs $50bn

Iraq needs at least $50bn in order to enable its oil and electricity sectors to generate enough output to meet demand, reported the AFP citing the Washington Post. The US based Government Accountability Office (GAO) has estimated that up to $30bn is needed to repair the oil infrastructure, while $27bn is needed to upgrade the national electricity grid.
