The digital movie camera is enveloped in a waterproof material and can operate at depths of up to 1.5 metres.
Equipped with a remarkably expressive 6.37-megapixel primary-color CCD, CA65 converts images collected by the 6-megapixel CCD to the recorded equivalent of 10-megapixel (3680 x 2760 pixels). The digital camera has an advanced 9-megapixel mixing technology with which clear and noise-free movies can be recorded even in dimly-lit areas.
CA65 measures about 70.4 x 111.4 x 40.5 mm (W x H x D) and weighs 217g (body only), making it one of the slimmest and lightest digital movie cameras in the world. The camera has a 2.5-inch TFT LCD monitor which can be rotated up to 285°, thus allowing you to shoot in varied angles. Like its predecessors, CA65 comes with the famous Xacti 'pistol-grip' design to shoot anywhere, anytime.
'SANYO has made waves with the launch of water-resistant camcorders,' said Tetsuji Okui, Managing Director at SANYO Gulf FZE. 'With SANYO Xacti VPC-CA65 we decided to take the concept further and designed a digital camcorder for all discerning movie-makers around the world.'
With 60 minutes of battery charge, CA65 can shoot 60 minutes of underwater video footage to a 1GB Secure Digital memory card before its lithium-ion battery needs recharging. The camera can also record a total of eight hours of footage with an 8GB SD card. CA65 captures at 30 frames per second and saves it as an MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 file.
CA65 has a 9-image Display Function making it easy to find pictures. It has an inbuilt microphone and stores the audio in AAC-LC (MPEG-4 audio) format. The movie camera features a dynamic 5x optical zoom lens, making it more convenient to capture distant objects. CA65 is available in white, blue and yellow colours.
