Diabetes on the rise in UAE

The rate of diabetes in the UAE is growing at an alarming rate, with a high percentage of the population at risk, especially young people, reported Gulf News citing experts who spoke at a medical conference at Abu Dhabi's National Exhibition Centre. One out of five people in the UAE has the disease, and country has the second highest number of diabetes patients per capita in the world, second only to the tiny Pacific island of Nauru.
