In cooperation with the French company 'SAGEM' as the project executor and ID cards manufacturer, The Emirates Identity Authority will bring out samples of the sophisticated devices used in registration by taking the individuals' essential data (Fingerprints), electronic signature and other sophisticated technologies which help in the verification of individuals' identity and in reducing the potentials of ID forgery or theft. The Authority will also present the devices used by 'Smart Systems' company in laminating the cards.
General Director of Emirates Identity Authority, H.E. Darwish Al Zaraouni stated that the Authority is concerned about taking part in this specialized distinguished exhibition being a good opportunity to introduce the latest technologies used by Emirates Identity Authority in providing innovated services for the UAE population.
The key benefits and features of the population register and identity card program lie in using the state-of-art-technology globally used in the field of verification of individual identity as well as to extend the use of such technology through e-connection between the government authorities in line with our government strategy which aims at innovating and increasing the government performance level, ensured Mr. Zaraouni.
During Gitex Exhibition, EIDA will provide registration in the population register and identity card program through its registration offices at the Authority's stand, added Mr. Zaraouni, who pointed out that the Authority, is provided with PC's for use of the Authority's website to fill the e-registration form prior to printing out and completion of the remaining registration process.
Furthermore, Mr. Zaraouni confirmed that the Authority has concluded an agreement with the Dubai World Trade Center' Management to have its entire staff registered with the program during the Gitex period, in addition to welcoming any applicant wishes to register during the exhibition period.
It is worth to mention that it is the third consecutive time for the Emirates Identity Authority to participate in the Annual Information Technology Exhibition 'Gitex' since the Authority is concerned about introducing the latest technologies of the population register and identity cart program.
Emirates Identity Authority to display Smart ID card technology in GITEX 2007
Emirates Identity Authority is taking part at the upcoming information technology exhibition Gitex 2007, which will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center from 8 to 12 September to present the state-of-art technology adopted by the Authority in establishing and developing the population register and issuance of the e-ID card.
