ISO, the world's largest developer of international standards, is a global network made up of over 150 countries. The Design Group's certification demonstrates its commitment in contributing to the work carried out within the ISO network. The ISO standards hold a positive impact for both participating countries and consumers. They provide governments with a technical base for health, safety and environmental legislation, and also serve to safeguard consumers.
Abdulrahman Kalantar, Director of the Nakheel Design Group, was recently presented the certificates by Mr. Paul Simpson, Director of the CML SIRA, a leading audit and certification body in the United Kingdom.
Nakheel's Design Group was formed in 2006 and oversees all of Nakheel's landmark developments from inception to completion. One of its responsibilities includes the design and implementation of health, safety and environment guidelines and to act as pioneers in introducing new standards and technologies in the region.
Abdulrahman Kalantar said:
"This is a milestone achievement for the Design Group and, also, another step in Nakheel's drive for safety, environmental and quality excellence. Nakheel intends to carry on along the path of continuous improvement in these areas, so that it can provide the best possible products and services for customers and stakeholders alike."
Wayne Harris, Nakheel's Corporate General Manager of Health and Safety, added:
"As the developer of Dubai's most iconic projects, such as The Palm and The World, we are honoured to be part of the ISO network. Gaining this certification clearly demonstrates Nakheel's commitment to maintain the highest standards."
