Highlighting the sultanate's progress in providing modern IT and telecommunications services to all its residents.
'As a major event for the ICT and telecommunications industries in the region, Arab Telsat 2007 will showcase the latest developments in these highly important fields in the face of greater liberalization in the industry and the continued growth of local and regional markets,' said Melwin D'Cunha, project manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading organiser of exhibitions and conferences in the sultanate.
The Arab Telsat exhibition will present the most advanced products, technologies, equipment and solutions that further drive cutting-edge developments in the industry. On the other hand, the international conference that will be held in conjunction with the exhibition will bring together industry professionals for a thorough discussion of the opportunities and challenges in the field as well as the market realities that will shape the future of the industry.
To be held at the Oman International Exhibition Center, the exhibition will be handled by Omanexpo LLC, while Trifoil Expo LLC will be coordinating the Arab Telsat conference.
Arab Telsat 2007 is officially endorsed by the Geneva-based International Telecommunications Union (ITU). It is also supported by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and the Information Technology Authority (ITA) of Oman, Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM), and the Samena Telecommunications Council (STC). The sponsors of the event include all the major operators in Oman, namely Omantel, Oman Mobile and Nawras.
The event is also supported by UK Trade and Investment, the Singapore Industrial Automation Association, Global VSAT Forum, and Wireless World Forum. The exhibitors will come from many countries including Russia, GCC and other Arab countries, Pakistan, India, Singapore, Brazil, Canada, the UK and the US.
'The strong support to Arab Telsat 2007 is a clear indication of the importance of the event as a platform for showcasing a wide range of products including cable and satellite technologies, radio and TV production equipment, and communication systems and products,' D'Cunha stressed. 'The event offers companies an excellent opportunity to display what they offer to the region's vibrant ICT and telecommunications industries.'
