The agreement will allow Jordan Post offices throughout the country to serve as selling points for Umniah products and services.
The General Manager of Jordan Post, Mr. Mansour Malhas, said that the agreement parallels the direction of the Jordanian leadership which calls for strengthening public-private partnerships which impact positively on the national economy. He added that phase one of the agreement will enable 100 post offices to offer Umniah products and services, as well as those of its telecoms agent, including post office branches at state universities in order to serve the student youth segment.
He explained that the focus of the Jordan Post management is centered around public-private partnerships that will save time and effort for citizens and allow them to access the full range of postal services as well as telecommunication services, and also transfers via the recently introduced 'La Indak' service.
He pointed out that this agreement will allow Jordan Post sub-dealers to benefit from the promotions offered by Umniah and its agent Al Aryan telecommunications, such as pre-paid lines, recharge and refill cards, handsets and many others services. Mr. Malhas said that this agreement paves the way for other companies in the same field to offer their services via Jordan Post offices.
Mr. Joseph Hanania, CEO of Umniah, said, 'Our agreement with Jordan Post is extremely important in light of Umniah's continued efforts to cooperate with its sub-dealers and support and develop their growing performance. This is in order to develop and promote the telecommunication and IT industry in Jordan and raise the standard of its services to the highest levels as befits the general direction and to serve its goals and achieve them, as this represents the most important factor driving economic growth and the industries relying on it.'
Mr. Ra'ed Rasheed, Head of Sales and Distribution at Umniah, commented, 'This agreement comes in line with Umniah's strategic framework to expand its marketing activities and enter into long-term strategic partnerships to serve its subscribers wherever they may be, to reward the loyalty and trust they have placed in us and to increase their satisfaction with our services. They can now access our services in a modern way at Jordan Post offices where we will be introducing new services and offers. I would also like to reaffirm that this strategy comes from our conviction that broadening the activities of telecommunication companies fuels other economic sectors that are linked either directly or indirectly with the telecommunication sector.'
Mr. Waleed Al Aryan, General Manager of Al Aryan Telecommunications -the approved agent for Umniah, said that this agreement has been put in place in order to improve standards and better serve sub-dealers, and to meet all their needs according to the highest performance measures. He also restated that Al Aryan telecommunications and Umniah are focused on expanding their operations in order to meet their expansion and growth plans.
Umniah will be holding a number of training sessions for Jordan Post employees to train them on how to sell in order to offer the best service possible to Umniah subscribers and post office sub-dealers.
