Inmarsat launches new phones

Inmarsat, a leading provider of global mobile satellite communications, has launched its new range of low-cost satellite phone services in the region. IsatPhone is a dual-mode satellite/GSM phone that is targeted at business and personal users who travel or work in areas where local phone service is nonexistent. The handsets are expected to cost about $500, with voice call charges expected to be less than $1 per minute.
