DWTC development manager represents UAE at International Retail Property competition

A senior development manager working on Dubai World Trade Centre's property team has been selected to sit on the Panel of Judges for the prestigious EG Retail and Future Project Awards 2007.
Mohammed Al-Shihhe, Development Manager, Dubai World Trade Centre, is the first UAE national ever to sit on the panel, which also includes such notable industry figures as David Rogers of the Jerde Partnership, responsible for such international landmarks as the Beursplien in The Netherlands.
Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre, said: "Mohammed's selection as a judge for this global event reflects the growing global interest in the UAE's diverse and innovative retail sector. We are delighted that a representative of Dubai World Trade Centre will be able to demonstrate his expertise on such a high profile jury."
Entries for the Awards are being accepted in a range of categories, including best retail development (under and over 20,000 sq. metres), best leisure and hotels, most progressive regeneration and sustainability programme, best architectural entry and retail property personality of the year.
"The EG Retail and Future Project Awards - which are seen as the 'Oscars' of the retail industry -regularly attract entries from some of the world's finest projects and leading personalities, and it is an honour to be selected to sit on the panel," said Mohammed Al-Shihhe.
Support for the prestigious EG Retail and Future Project Awards is part of Dubai World Trade Centre's strategy for ensuring the highest possible standard of retail experience at its properties.
Dubai Trade Centre District, the USD 4.3 billion project currently under development alongside Sheikh Zayed Road, is set to feature leading high-end brands as part of its retail component.
Executives working on the project are in discussion with major boutiques and world-class restaurants. The combination of the district's stylish architecture and prime location are seen as major assets for retail developments, in addition to the potential access to thousands of executives and residents in the immediate vicinity.

About the EG Retail and Future Project AwardsNow in its fourth year, the EG Retail and Future Project Awards 2007 will be presented during MAPIC at a Gala Awards Dinner at the Carlton Hotel Cannes on Wednesday November 14th and will celebrate excellence in architecture, development, investment and agency across the retail property market.
From June 1st 2007, entries are invited from developers and architects for future projects.
All architectural entries to the awards programme will be exhibited in the MAPIC Palais and awards will be given to those projects that in the opinion of the international judging panel represent excellence in the design and procurement of retail property.
The deadline for entries is September 18th 2007.
