The team, including officials from the Chamber's Information Technology Department, Commercial Services Department, Dubai Trade Point and Credit Rating Unity, will answer all the visitors' inquiries.
HE Engineer Hamad Buamim, Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, said "We are pleased to participate in Gitex 2007 Exhibition due to its importance as one of the biggest specialized computer and Information Technology exhibitions in the Middle East region. The exhibition provides a good opportunity for the Chamber to introduce its members and clients to the latest development we applied to upgrade our commercial services to our customers who can now carry out their transactions completely online while sitting in their offices, saving much time and effort."
He pointed out that the visitors of Dubai Chamber's pavilion in Gitex will get useful information and brochures illustrating the Chamber's activities and e-services offered to its members through the Chamber's new website which was upgraded earlier this year.
"Visitors of Dubai Chamber's pavilion would learn about the easy access to its website through which they can complete all their commercial transactions online including a service of e-payment of charges which would encourage more clients of the Chamber to use this effective way to get their job done fast and easy," said Buamim.
He added that Dubai Chamber is interested in urging more companies to benefit from its electronic services, especially after the Chamber has successfully completed the implementation of its electronic integrated end to end Front Office Solution project as part of the Chamber's plan to upgrade its internal work procedures and improve its online services such as the issue of Certificates of Origin for the members, membership registration and renewal, information services, legal services, booking facility and event logging and others.
Buamim noted that 86% of the total companies dealing with Dubai Chamber have benefited from the Chamber's online services. The Chamber has issued 269,518 Certificates of Origin online through its website during the first six months of this year.
He said that Gitex 2007 Exhibition is one of the most distinguished events in Dubai due to the large number of Information Technology pioneers and experts it attracted every year. The exhibition provides a chance to meet representatives of technological sectors in the GCC countries and be introduced to the latest development in this field.
The exhibition is expected to draw a large number of visitors at the halls of Dubai World Trade Center due to be occupied by over 3,300 IT companies from 79 countries worldwide.
