In its continuing efforts to develop the education sector, the Western Region Development Council (WRDC) today held an open forum in Mirfa. The forum invited female heads and school principals from across the region to meet and discuss WRDC's objectives to improve the region's education standards and address the day-to-day challenges faced by each school in the region to identify short and long-term solutions.
H.E. Mohamed Hamed Al Mazrouei, Director General, Western Region Development Council explains, 'Education is the backbone of our society's development and is one of our top priorities alongside healthcare and infrastructure. One of our main objectives related to education is to attract and retain the talent in the region. We want to create a healthy and prosperous living and working environment in the Western Region that offers high standards of education for all residents. This forum is one in a series of initiatives that will help us achieve this aim.
'We need to improve the quality of education standards in the region. At the Forum today, we discussed our long-term strategy for developing education in the Western Region. It was important that all attendees are aware of the development plans for the education sector, to ensure that they are inline with the requirements of each school in the region. We also identified solutions for immediate concerns that act as a barrier to delivering better education services in the Region. It is imperative that we maintain a close working relationship with the Western Region's education specialists and government entities to enhance the education sector and ultimately ensure success. As always, we will continue to communicate updates with residents accordingly,' concluded Al Mazrouei.
The Western Region Development Council also presented its strategy to develop the education sector in the Western Region to all attendees.
