Created in collaboration with Dubai eGovernment to enhance customer service efficiency at the Department, the new eServices are being launched as part of GITEX Technology Week.

Customers who have submitted business license applications to DED for renewal, modification or issuance can track the status of their transaction online through the new 'Transaction Status/Payment' feature. If the application has been processed and a payment voucher generated, customers can pay for the transaction online and have the license certificate delivered to their home or office by courier service. A variety of payment methods are available including credit cards, e-Dirham and direct debit from select banks.

The new 'Pay Fines' service allows business owners to view fines issued against their companies and also pay them online. The third new feature, 'Licenses by Activity,' enables investors and company owners to better understand their industry by providing a list of companies operating the business activities selected by the user.

"The DED believes in the concept of continuous improvement and is implementing the eStrategy to enhance and expand its online services according to best practices and customer feedback. This initiative is also a step towards applying eGovernment policies," said Noura Juma, Director of Business Registration Division at DED.

"Since no service fee is levied on online payments and courier service only costs AED 15, DED is happy to provide its customers with a convenient and cost effective means to finalise their licence transactions," added Noura.

"With the launch of the new three eServices, DED is highlighting its commitment to extend its online service offerings. By increasing the number of services online, we contribute to expanding the culture of information technology, which reiterates our commitment towards transforming Dubai into a knowledge-based economy,"

said Mr Abdullah Saif Al Kaabi, Director of the IT Division.

The web services feature descriptive help text on each page, Arabic/English support and a friendly and intuitive design. Internet users can instantly access the services without any registration process.

More online services will be available on the website in the near future offering primarily GROs (Government Relationship Officers) and company owners the opportunity to initiate and complete transactions online.
