According to independent analysis group Gartner, Acer in Q2 of 2007 recorded a year-on-year growth rate of 35.2% in the total PC market, almost three times the market growth. Acer is the Middle East's leading supplier of notebooks, and with tech-savvy end-users demanding more, the new biometric security enabled machines add more credibility to Acer's mix of products.

"At Acer, we are constantly striving to empower our end-users, and GITEX helps us educate the region on our products and technology," said Krishna Murthy, General Manager, Acer Computer, Middle East. "Our products reflect Acer's philosophy that innovative design, advanced technology, and affordability can go hand-in-hand," added Murthy.

Acer's range of commercial and business PCs is a serious proposition for any enterprise. The company's success in the notebook and desktop market, especially in the commercial arena, can be attributed to the popularity of its TravelMate notebooks and Veriton desktops, and the success of its Altos servers.

Acer's focus on key areas of convergence and enterprise will clearly be visible at GITEX. Visitors will be able to see first hand Acer's latest offerings. Products like the prominent TravelMate notebooks and Altos servers, and the renowned Veriton series of desktops will all be on display.

"The demand for high-performance notebooks and desktops in the Middle East is growing incredibly fast. Companies are increasingly relying on steadfast, secure and efficient storage and transfer of information − a process which is fundamental to most business operations," said Murthy.

"Acer products empower people, and GITEX gives us a chance to showcase global innovations for Middle East customers. We are always looking to develop and provide solutions that allow our customers to unlock the full potential of our products,"

added Murthy.
