MTC changes name to Zain

Kuwait's MTC Group has changed its name and re-branded to Zain, which becomes the group's corporate master brand with immediate effect. Country operations in Kuwait and Bahrain, both formerly known as MTC-Vodafone, will immediately re-brand to Zain, as will Jordan's Fastlink and Sudan's Mobitel. The group's upcoming mobile operation in Saudi Arabia will launch under the Zain brand in early 2008, while its Iraqi operation MTC Atheer will shortly re-brand.
