Engineered for regions that commonly experience projector brightness deficiencies caused by dust intrusion, specifically the Middle East and some parts of Africa, the EMP-280 and EMP-260 reflect Epson's reactivity to the unique demands of individual markets around the world.
Vincent VAN RIJ, Product Manager for Business Projectors at Epson said,
"Epson is a global business, but our investment in research and development is focused on the issues experienced by our customers at a local level. The launch of the EMP-280 and EMP-260 projectors demonstrates our commitment to reacting to specific local problems with industry-leading solutions."
Khalil El Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East, said, "The launch of these dust-resistant projectors is testament to Epson's approach of catering to the specific requirements of each market. The feedback we received from customers and partners in the region was crucial for us while designing this range of projectors."
The EMP-280 and the EMP-260 offer a more cost-effective system than other dust-resistant projectors, whilst also boasting technical innovations that enhance the products' resistance to dust degradation. Both projector units are fully sealed and incorporate a high efficiency dust filter that captures even micro dust particles.
This electrostatic filter introduces an entirely new concept to the sector, breaking new ground as the first ever filter of its kind to be removable and cleanable; significantly reducing maintenance costs and extending the lifespan of the projector. An innovative glass lens cover offers added protection against dust collection around the lens.
The primary difference between the two new products lies in resolution, with the EMP-260 providing SVGA resolution, and the EMP-280 offering a higher quality XGA resolution. Both units incorporate integrated speakers and an intuitive on-screen indicator makes users aware of when the filter requires cleaning. High brightness levels ensure the projectors can be used in all environments, even light rooms, and both the EMP-280 and EMP-260 incorporate patented Epson Twin Optimised Reflection Lamp (E-TORL) technology to significantly enhance energy efficiency, eliminate light leakage and minimise light diffraction.
Epson has also incorporated a number of unique functions to ensure the EMP-260 and EMP-280 are perfectly suited for ceiling mounting. These projectors have improved security features including a metal security bar to secure the projectors to the ceiling. Password protection and Kensington Lock connectivity are also provided to ensure peace of mind in high traffic environments. Furthermore, the projectors can be turned on and off directly from the wall power switch thanks to the Direct Power On/Off function.
The new projectors will be available in the UAE and regions of Africa from October 2007.
