Dubai Women's Establishment to participate in World Women's Forum 2007 in South Korea

The Dubai Women's Establishment today announced its participation at the World Women's Forum 2007 to be held in Seoul, South Korea from 12 - 14 September.
The forum titled, 'Defining Leadership and Success' will draw over 600 women leaders, businesswomen and opinion leaders. Representing the UAE will also be Azzah Al Sharhan, Director of Emirates National Development Programme.
Laura Albornoz, Minister of Women's Services in Chile, Rajaa Al-Khuzai, President of the Iraqi National Council of Women, Shinae Chun, Director of Women's Bureau - US Department of Labour, and Yee Shoon Yu-Foo, Minister of State for Community Development - Youth and Sports, Singapore, are also among the participants.
The forum will focus on Global Issues Facing Women; Leadership to Enhance Corporate Performance; Women Prosumers to Move Global Economy, and Self-Management and Career Development.
Mona Al-Marri said the objectives of the Seoul forum reflect the principles of the Dubai Women Establishment. The conference will enrich the experience of the UAE delegation, while highlighting Dubai and the UAE as a progressive nation with traditional foundations, she added. Misconceptions about women in the Arab and Muslim societies will also be clarified.
In their address, Mona Al-Marri and Azzah Al Sharhan will highlight women's issues in the Arab world, and focus on their increasingly vital role in the development of the UAE.
In setting the stage for the upcoming forum, Dr Jang Ha-jin, Minister of Gender Equality and Family, Republic of Korea, emphasized the role of women leaders as both relevant and important to resolve global problems in the political and economic spheres, as well as in environmental and human rights issues.
Jang said the forum will enhance the image of women, and focus on independent women's leadership. It will also aim to build partnerships among women from various parts of the world, she added.
