The open architecture of the SAP NetWeaver platform allows customers to seamlessly integrate IHS Intermat's solutions with SAP® applications.

IHS also has become an SAP Content Partner, recognizing that IHS offers content with proven interoperability with SAP solutions. The certification and partner status build on the joint marketing agreement signed with SAP earlier this year and are evidence of the importance of high-quality content to the success of business and enterprise applications.

"We have been working with customers who use SAP solutions for well over a decade, but through our expanded partnership this year, IHS is working even more closely with SAP to ensure that customers have clean, standardized and attributed data in their SAP business applications," said Paul Evenson, senior vice president, Parts Management, IHS. "Our customers recognize that without quality content, they cannot achieve optimal business results."

The SAP Integration and Certification Center has certified that IHS Struxure 5 properly integrate with the SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (SAP NetWeaver XI) Release 3.0 component of the SAP NetWeaver platform to exchange critical data with instances of the SAP Business Suite family of applications. IHS has also demonstrated that these solutions integrate successfully with the SAP NetWeaver Portal Release 6.0.

IHS Intermat software and services create standardized descriptions for industrial maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) items such as pipes, valves, bearings, associated plant equipment and general supply items. These standardized, attributed MRO item descriptions and Standard Modifier Dictionary™ (SMD™) description formats can now seamlessly populate the SAP materials management application of the SAP Service and Asset Management solution and the SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management (SAP NetWeaver MDM) component. As part of this solution, IHS has now certified its Package for Material Classification as content for the SAP NetWeaver MDM.

"The market demand for SAP business applications continues to accelerate, and with this growth comes the demand for data integrity," said Bert Turner, vice president of IHS Intermat. "The majority of asset-intensive companies implementing SAP Service and Asset Management or SAP NetWeaver MDM must perform data cleansing and rationalization prior to go-live. Being an SAP Content Partner with Powered by NetWeaver status helps IHS ensure that customer implementations of SAP applications are successful and sustainable."

The SAP NetWeaver platform powers the SAP Business Suite, SAP xApps™ packaged composite applications, and solutions such as IHS Struxure 5. SAP NetWeaver unifies integration technologies into a single platform and is pre-integrated with business applications, enabling change and reducing the need for custom integration.
