DP World makes Emiratisation a top priority

DP World, UAE region held today a Recruitment Open Day for UAE Nationals to allow them to explore career opportunities within the organisation as part of its Emiratisation drive, which seeks to identify and foster exceptional UAE National talent.
DP World currently has a number of openings in different departments within the organisation, both in the UAE and internationally. With a global asset base across 22 countries and links to major ports around the world, DP World has a strong Emirati team at all management levels.
Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World, UAE region said: "DP World is a great believer in providing sustainable career opportunities for all UAE Nationals. As a UAE-based company, it is our responsibility to our society to ensure that young Emirati men and women are able to play an important role in the development of the nation."
Mr Muallem added that graduate trainee positions were available in several DP World support departments such as Operations, Finance, IT, Customer Service, Technical, Human Resource, Marine & Marketing, and Procurement. Students were given the chance to meet with the heads of each department and undergo a job interview on the ground.
DP World provides UAE nationals a unique opportunity to perform and excel by providing a training and development programme, ranging between 18-24 months. The programme includes intensive coaching sessions, with a view to gaining experience over a range of sections within a department and upon completion being confirmed within a specific role. The new recruits receive competitive compensations and benefits package with opportunities for international placement.
Nasser Madani, HR Director, DP World, UAE region said: "An increasing number of Emirati university students are looking for career opportunities in high-value sectors of the economy. Through our Emiratisation programme, we focus on equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to take on more challenging roles. In the end, such an event open doors for young graduates, who are keen to work in an organisation that is reflective of UAE's economic aspirations."
In addition to the Recruitment Open Day, DP World is also working with a number of organisations to source candidates including Tanmia, Emirates National Development Programme (ENDP), Zayed University, and Higher Colleges of Technology.
DP World has a track record of promoting not only UAE nationals but also education opportunities in UAE and abroad. Earlier this year, it launched the "Ta'heel" sponsorship programme in partnership with Higher Colleges of Technology - Dubai Men's College (DMC) to sponsor 10 students during the next academic year.

That capacity is set to increase significantly in coming years with a committed pipeline of expansion and development projects in key growth markets, including India, China and the Middle East. Capacity will rise to around 84 million TEU by 2016.
