Rail agency delegation visits rail stations manufacturing facilities in Malaysia & Singapore

The delegation of Rail Agency at Roads & Transport Authority returned to Dubai after a visit to Malaysia & Singapore that lasted five days during which the work progress of manufacturing Metro Stations in those countries were reviewed.

The delegation consisted of engineer Abdul Redha Abu Al Hassan, Director of Rail Planning & Development, engineer Naser Al Asadi, Senior Architect Engineer, Rail Development Dep't, and engineer Dr. Bashaar Taha Saadi, Senior Quality & Safety Engineer, Rail Agency, in addition to representatives of the main consultant & contractor of the project.

Engineer Abdul Redha Abu Al Hassan stated that the delegation was given a detailed briefing about the progress of work in manufacturing of the main & secondary structures of the rail stations at Shk Zayed Rd, by the main contractor, secondary contractors and manufacturers of the rail stations.

Discussions covered manufacturing phases, high technology used, and extended to following-up obstacles / problems confronting manufacturers as well as figuring out solutions at site. The delegation ensured that the manufacturing phases are running according to the prescribed implementation schedule.

The delegation also inspected the manufacturing facilities & workshops where stations are being manufactured, and scrutinized key technical specifications of design and checked safety & quality standards used in the process.

Engineer Abu Al Hassan revealed that the contractor has actually commenced supplying station components to sites in Dubai and will supply the remaining stations accordingly during the coming few weeks soon after manufacturing of the major parts in Malaysia & Singapore is completed. The main finishing works will be carried out at sites in Dubai, he added.
