- PRESS RELEASE
Less than three months after the launch of its ambitious home networking technology, LG HomNet, global and regional digital leader LG Electronics is bringing the future of smart homes to GITEX 2007, taking place at Dubai's Trade Centre, from September 8 to 12, 2007.
Control and monitoring all devices in the home through Internet and WAP mobile phones are standard package with LG HomNet and these services will be demonstrating at GITEX 2007, in association with Genesis Integration, business partner of LG HomNet in UAE.
Mr. K.W. Kim, President of LG Electronics - Middle East and Africa, pointed out that an increasing number of real estate developers and home owners in the Middle East were now recognising the need for affordable smart home technology and incorporating it into the design from the construction phase itself.
"LG is already the frontrunner in creating converged home network appliances - the electronics of the future - and GITEX DUBAI is the ideal opportunity for us to show our innovations to our consumers, especially developers, at close quarters," Kim said. "We have already installed LG HomNet systems in more than 35,000 premium apartments worldwide we are keen to emulate that success in the Middle East."
LG has already confirmed contracts worth AED 70 million with real estate developers for contracts in UAE, to outfit 2,800 homes with comprehensive and tailored solutions. These include prestigious projects such as Santevill and U-Bora Tower, both in Business Bay, as well as Al Naseem Tower and Platinum Penthouse Tower in Sharjah.
"The LG HomNet rounds up our consumer electronics portfolio, with cutting-edge technology breaking barriers in home networking solutions. The singularly distinguishing feature of HomNet is that it is affordable, while maintaining the high innovation standards that LG is synonymous with," Kim added.
While technologically enhanced features enable these projects to be completely connected through a single server, LG HomNet is also an affordable and user-friendly solution. Through a single server, all apartments in a residential tower are connected to each other, maximizing efficiency while minimizing personal operation costs.
In one comprehensive package, LG HomNet integrates eight different solutions - Community Management. Community Portal, Home Tasking, Home Management, Home Entertainment, Home Safety, Home Communication and future ready Well-Being Features.
