In a fierce competition between online voters over the past two weeks, Dr Muhadditha Al Hashimi, CEO of Dubai Healthcare City, has won a number of over 100 votes for the 'Best Female Manager of 2007' award run by the Dubai based Albinora Consulting.
Other elections were made for prominent women who are well-known in various business fields including, Oprah Winfrey, Indra Nooyi, Ingie Chalhoub, Mona Al Marri, Najla Al Awadhi and many others from the Middle East Region.
Over 300 voters logged in day and night and left their comments on Albinora's to voice their say towards which female manager deserves the award for 'Best Female Manager' of the year. Voters have logged in from as far afield as Tokyo, Malaysia, Russia, India, London and even Brazil.
Commenting on her win, Dr Muhadditha said, 'I'm very touched and honoured to receive such an award. I thank everyone who voted for me and I hope I can keep up with the big responsibility on my shoulders now without disappointing anyone. I believe any manager cannot be better without having a great supportive team and I have the best team at DHCC. Without them, I could not have been successful. I am really proud of them'.
Noreen Nasralla, Vice President Operations, Albinora, said|: "We were astonished by the increasing number of voters per day. Numbers doubled over a few hours and the anticipation drove the voters to our website as they encouraged their fellow friends and colleagues to vote too. The initiative generated a lot of excitement among the corporate corridors of the region's offices, encouraging some to vote for their preferred Male counterparts".
"A manager who has been voted for so fiercely and confidently is definitely a manager who has seized the hearts of her fellow subordinates and must have been a great representation of the executive embodiment of leadership. This is the female manager that governments should recognize and empower to lead", said Nasralla.
It is worth to mention that Dr. Al-Hashimi holds a doctorate in Public Health from the University of Texas, Houston. Dr. Al-Hashimi first joined DHCC as Director of Education at Harvard Medical School Dubai Center Institute for Post Graduate Education and Research (HMSDC), responsible for the implementation and supervision of the institute's educational programmes. Her activities also focused on establishing organizational strategy, and educational plans for post-graduate training at DHCC and laying the foundations for clinical research programme.
