"The fantastic success of GITEX Shopper is proof that the show offers truly special deals, promotions and packages only seen at the GITEX Shopper. We are delighted that the event once again reaffirmed its position as the Gulf's leading retail consumer technology platform," said Mr. Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai World Trade Centre.

Mr. Abdul Hadhy Al Aghbar, said, " I come every year to the exhibition because the price of the products and bundled offers available are like none other in Dubai. I saved a lot of money and wouldn't dream of missing the show"

Mr.Llewellyn Couto Manager Marketing and Communications at Sharaf DG, said, "The show has reflected the development and growth of the Gulf's consumer electronics sector. We have found this show's consumers to be enthusiastic and knowledgeable and we have seen a 85% increase in sales from last year's show."

The general shift in visitors' interest from computers to a wider range of consumer electronics goods that was clearly apparent at last year's show was intensified at this year's event. Comparing this year's show to last year's edition, - Ganesh Iyer- CMO at Cellucom, said "Our sales are up by around 25% compared to last year. We found that there was a special interest in laptops and flat-panel televisions during GITEX Shopper 2007."

Shivam Goyal- General Manager, E Max, echoed the same opinion. "The crowds that visited our stand were interested in electronic consumer goods as part of a modern lifestyle rather than because they have a particular affinity for technology.

Visitors to the show also reported that they were delighted with the show's extensive range of products and competitive pricing. "I came here to upgrade my laptop and found a bundled offer that enabled me to get my son a new mobile phone at a bargain price," said Mr John Smith, an engineer.

Other visitors appreciated the show's exciting atmosphere as much as its pricing. Thousands of consumers who visited the show came away with spectacular prizes. "We were absolutely thrilled to win a home theatre in the Mega Draw. We definitely got more than we bargained for!" said an elated David Jones, who visited the show with his family to buy a laptop for his two children.

GITEX Shopper & Consumer Electronics 2007 was a roaring success for both visitors and exhibitors and returns in 2008, 18-24 October.
