Bosch Home Appliances supports local charity with Ramadan promotion

German household appliance giant Bosch is getting into the spirit of Ramadan with the launch of a promotion in aid of local charity Dar Al Atta.

During the Holy Month every customer buying a Bosch appliance in Oman will receive a teddy bear gift, with the value of each toy also donated to the Muscat-based charity. The deal will reach across Oman Trading Enterprises' network of 125 dealers throughout the Sultanate, including leading 'power retailers' such as Carrefour, Sultan Centre and Lulu.

The promotion, which will run from September 15, 2007, until at least the final day of Ramadan, is a first time for Bosch in the Middle East. The social responsibility of Bosch was one of the principles of founder Robert Bosch, who established a foundation in 1964 to develop and support worthwhile causes.

Bosch's marketing manager, Ralph Kobsik, said: "We are new to the Oman market after launching there this year. This is a way for us to communicate our commitment to the country and underline important social values, which is the basis of Bosch's philosophy. At the same time hopefully make a difference by raising some serious funds for this extremely worthwhile charity."

Dar Al Atta is currently involved in three charity projects focusing primarily upon Oman's underprivileged. The charity's Family Sponsorship Project provides needy families with the basic necessities of life, while its Student Sponsorship Project helps underprivileged students in public schools by providing items such as lunches, uniforms and school supplies. Dar Al Atta is wholly funded through donations and also supports the Children's Cancer Ward at SQU Hospital in Muscat.

Dar al Atta's chairperson, Mariam al-Zadjali, said: "We would like to thank Bosch for choosing us as the charity to benefit from this superb promotion and helping us put even more smiles on the faces of those that need it most. We rely upon companies such as Bosch to continue such donations in order for us to continue the important work we do for Oman's underprivileged.

Bosch commenced its operations in the Sultanate of Oman in August, 2007, announcing Oman Trading Enterprises (OTE), part of the Suhail Bahwan Group, as the sole retailers for the high quality domestic appliance ranges throughout the Sultanate.

Bosch's Middle East headquarters has been based in Dubai for a decade and has established a strong presence and reputation in the region due to its high performing and reliable products.

And Oman's consumers are now able to choose from Bosch's collection of innovative and environmentally friendly products, including washing machines, refrigerators, ovens and dishwashers.

The Middle East is the fastest growing region in the worldwide Bosch Siemens Hausgeräte network. Employing 35 within its Dubai office and 15 more throughout the Middle East region, BSH is one of the few international domestic appliances manufacturers to have its regional headquarters in the Middle East.
